We have had the loveliest overnight stay here. From the moment we walked in to this cosy village pub we were met with the most friendliest welcome. The staff were so lovely and the locals chatted to us like we were old friends. Bedroom was cosy and comfortable. Breakfast was tasty and beautifully presented. The breakfast waitress was the most bubbly and pleasant lady you could ever wish to meet, we didn't catch her name but she said she was originally from St Lucia and we had a chat (and a moan) about the not so delightful British weather. We will most certainly return here again, one of the nicest places we've stayed at. Thank you to all the staff

This is a fabulous place to stay on the edge of the Dales. The pub is the life-blood of the very pretty village of Snape and run by a delightfully obliging couple. Breakfast was great and the dinner was top quality, far surpassing our expectations. The red wine was rich and full bodied, the Theakstons Best ale was beautifully well kept and the food seems to be not just well cooked but mostly locally sourced. Rooms are tucked away behind the pub in a small purpose built annex - cosy and while a little cramped ours had all you'd want for a short stay including kettle etc. In a really helpful gesture, the owners called us on the morning before our arrival to warn us that dinner orders would finish at 5pm that day [a Sunday] giving us a chance to replan our route and arrive in time.

The place itself was fine, room clean and comfortable, the staff friendly, totally dog friendly and the food was exceptional. There was a lovely choice on the menu on an evening and there were specials too. Rooms separate from pub so no noise and the rooms were lovely and warm. Shower was great.

Lovely pub with friendly staff, guests and locals. The room was clean, fresh and comfortable, although the bed seemed a little firm we slept really well. Due to the freezing temperatures it felt chilly when we arrived, they'd had to shut for an hour as they were short staffed and the room heating was on a timer so the manager reset that and with a little help from my husband got the fires blazing in the bar so it ended up really cosy. Breakfast was delicious, cooked fresh to order plus buffet style cereal, juice and toast. Although we didn't go down until 9:45 didn't feel rushed at all and the chef did an amazing job!

Great experience of a proper rural village hotel/country pub. The locals were very welcoming and staff were excellent. Snape is a decent walk (and lovely walk) to Bedale and taxis are hard to come by but the hotel staff offered to drive us there at night which was really appreciated. There is a planned £150k refurbishment in the New Year so it would be great to go back and see what improvements have been made. Overall a really pleasant and relaxing weekend, which is just what we wanted. Food and beer 10/10 👌🏻

Food was excellent and with good portions. Staff were very friendly and chatty and helped us work out where to go during our 6 night holiday. The whole village is very quiet but locals in the bar were also friendly. It appears to be a small business doing relatively well but with some issues to attend to

We really liked this hotel. The room was located away from the main building and was perfect for us with a dog. It was well decorated, clean and cosy. Only draw back was the window didn't open and it was a little stuffy at night. We had breakfast and dinner for our 2 day stay. The food was excellent, fresh and tasty - there was a wide selection of food for breakfast, pretty much anything you wanted was no trouble. The dinner menu was really good, but there was only one option for vegetarians, so the chef whisked up a lovely mushroom risotto on second night, delicious. The staff were really helpful, the Chef, Derek, kindly took us to Bedale as there were no busses running that day. Also we had to borrow a phone charger as we had forgotten ours. The staff couldn't do enough to make our stay enjoyable.

Great welcome from hosts Adrian and Penny from the very first moment we arrived, and who could neglect to enjoy the lovely happy cheerful ''Tia''( St Lucia's finest export, as bright and sunny as the island itself). Nothing was too much trouble for these lovely people, and the food was amazing also. Thank you guys, you made our wedding anniversary so very special and we thank you so, so, much for your kindness, hospitality, and for a very memorable stay.

Situated in a lovely village, it’s a nice old pub and the rooms are situated away from the bar and potential noise. We had a tasty meal in the pub in the evening and huge breakfast the morning afterwards. Great for a stopover or base for touring. Dogs allowed.

Lovely charming historical building. The rooms are located in a separate building from the bar/restaurant and are a good size with everything you need. I booked this to break up the trip from Southampton to Glasgow, after our cruise and it’s in a lovely location, very scenic and rural. We sat outside in the sun with a drink and later had dinner in the restaurant. Dinner was really good and the portions are huge. You will also get a cooked breakfast which again was lovely and there is also fruit/yogurt/cereal etc you can help yourself to. Friendly staff. Really enjoyed this stay to finish off our holiday.
